  1. Israel betrayed him. Our objective with the attack was to destroy the equipment necessary for refining weapons grade Uranium. We seem pretty confident that was achieved. There is some concern that they have stashed some Uranium that’s already been processed. But when they move it it’s pretty easy to detect. I’d like to see Trump cut any more support for the Israelis off for a while. They need a good bitch slap and can’t be trusted. But in the long run our attack was nothing but positive. Trump just re established us as the only real super power. Also Trump shows a tremendous amount of wisdom in encouraging Russia to help referee this bull shit.

  2. What? You mean Trump’s carefully crafted cease fire deal, the one that probably took several minutes to come up with, didn’t work? How?? After all, he has so much credibility after lulling Iran into allowing Israel to strike in the first place, calling for unconditional surrender, threatening Iranian regime change, saying he’s gonna take the next two weeks to make up his mind and then attacking Iran on the second night, etc., etc., etc.

Folks, I’m just spit-balling here, but I think there’s a slim chance that Iran doesn’t trust him. Why would they? Why would Putin, after witnessing this guys bi-polar behavior? Trump: the President of peace, war, peace, war, peace,…or maybe war…

God i hope you didn’t vote for the man. After all, this should be a walk in the park right? Bi Polar? Holy crap. Kammie would have had this settled by now.

  4. I did vote for him Brad. Which is why I’m so disappointed. many times. I’ve given Trump credit when it is due. But he’s screwing the pooch big time on this one.

  5. Bull Shit. “we will not allow Iraq to have a nuclear weapon”. He’s been consistent through out this entire ordeal. Considering that mission statement, and that’s pretty much what it was, how is he screwing the pooch?

  6. As I noted last night, the cease-fire was ‘after the bombing runs currently in the air.’ How does that begin to make sense??? Obviously Israel’s runs will do lots of damage. And Iran is just supposed to accept that – after the cease-fire was called but before it took effect??? It just wasn’t going to happen that way.
Today’s deal appears more concrete, but we shall see.

  7. You and I must use different dictionaries when using the word ā€œconsistentā€. He’s been all over the map. My advice to him would be to stop trying to run international diplomacy using social media. That would be a start. And I don’t buy the ā€œbrilliant 4D chess moveā€ argument either. He’s grasping.

First he said he wanted to negotiate, you know, Mr. art of the deal. When Israel attacked and things were going well, he became their instant cheerleader. Now he’s back to acting like Mr. peacemaker, so angry at them for not instantly ending the war that he enabled. That’s what I’m talking about. And before you start, don’t keep asking me to “show the receipts” just to wear me down. I have a day job. You’ve been watching and listening to him this whole time.

That’s not what this is about. It’s about perspective. I don’t think what you are presenting is reality. In other words the worlds just not that simple. If Trump needs to vacillate, play good cop, bad cop, to achieve the end goal so be it. Hell my little world isn’t even that simple. And that military display he put on a couple days ago will save many lives and probably a war or two. I can’t think of another human being that could accomplish what he’s done so far. I’m pretty damn happy with him. And when I see something that I’m not happy about I will declare it. We obviously come from two very different realities.

  10. My 2 cents (for what it’s worth):

Trump is a builder, not a destroyer. His approach to international challenges — especially wars and threats of wars that have existed between nations for years/decades — has been to try to get the parties talking to each other and moving them toward resolution. I believe, at bottom, that Trump truly understands the horrible waste of human life and the draining wealth of nations that robs those nations’ of their ability to live peaceful, abundant lives. I believe he understands that if warring nations ceased their destructive goals and focused on exploiting whatever natural and human capital they possess, such change would reduce or eliminate their war-mongering. Admittedly, this is much more difficult when a nation’s head-of-state is a tyrant.

In negotiations, one uses a variety of tactics to achieve a successful end point. Believe it or not, his approach works when the opposition is highly-suspicious of motives or are used to limiting their responses to only a few options. First you have to capture the imaginations of those involved before you can move forward. Iran is not used to the West/United States thinking outside the box.

  11. ^ Well put! He always favors cooperation over conflict. And like an Irishman, if he has to lower the boom on your head, he will. But afterwards, and true all along, he really wants to be friends.

Sometimes I wish he was more ‘Scot.’
