I liked his music then – I listen to it fondly now. RIP Sly.
And the one no radio station would ever play today…

RIP
I’ll take Sly over Wonder any day.
Now that was some GOOD music.
One of a kind, and it was a good kind. RIP Mr. Stone.
Dance to the music. RIP.
Great song and lyrics. Greg Errico’s drumming here is the definition of ‘locked in the pocket’. Great job guys and gals. Reached #1 in the U.S. and stayed there for four weeks in March of ’69
RIP Sly

RIP Sly Stone; I enjoyed your music.
RIP, Sly.
I was looking up the lyrics to one of my favorite songs of Sly & the Family Stone and was surprised to find out what the refrain was:
I want to thank you falettinme
Be mice elf agin
Back when Black Music was…music.
Hot Fun In the Summertime…one of my top ten.
Dance To The Music: My personal favorite!
RIP Sir.
Unique talent and ability. Absolutely the most influential on my musical development of the time. Mom and dad HATED it. But I didn’t care. Joy in every piece no matter what the feel meant.
Good man, tough life, great music. RIP Sly and thanks for the music.
was in Hawaii in the early 70s. went to see Sly in concert. warm up band played. took Sly over 30 minutes to get on stage. played 2 songs and walked off stage. came back on and said, just what the hell do you want for your money. he was told nver to set foot in Hawaii again.
